Gonna make some dandelion beer!
Driving up my driveway the other day, I noticed all of the dandelions growing along the side of the driveway, and in my garden.
This got me to thinking about dandelion wine, which then got me contemplating whether or not I could make a dandelion beer! After playing around with some recipes, I decided to modify my flower spiced ale and instead of using hops to bitter the beer, use dandelions. I picked and cleaned some dandelions. Looked just like salad.
The next day, I brewed the beer. I also decided to use some bio honey to add to the beer's gravity and add a subtle honey taste to the final product.
The beer ended up with a gravity around 1.059 and started to ferment nicely after a day. I look forward to putting it in bottles and testing it out in a couple of weeks!
